Monastery of Saint Maria della Fonte
Belongs to the Benedictine order. Among the five fossatano monastic settlements of the Middle Ages, is the only one to have survived as such, in its enclosure in the meantime transformed from a papal to episcopal (in medieval territory fossatano are the Templars but they are not monks, with their church Santa Croce de Cullano, Hill Purello church still exists today and that was the only temple of the vast diocese of Nocera). The founding charter of 1292, says that it is to build juxta castrum (near the castle, not inside, to emphasize in this detachment from the world) and the accuracy juxta Fontem dicti forts, one just south called the fountains and buried in brambles along the slope from the ancient Flaminia - in word Turcone - leading to the castle.
